Think of them as a high school clique on steroids, but instead of wanting to be popular, these people crave power. It is all about power, and creating opportunities to stay in control. That is big government’s growth strategy. It plays for both teams, and, at times, big government wears either a red or a blue jersey. It is one gigantic clique. Moreover, just like high school, if you are not in the clique, you do not count. The clique might tell you to your face that they care about you and your healthcare, or the economy, the environment or foreign relations, but turn around and they are all laughing at you. The clique put the “kick me” sign on the back of your jacket. It is high school all over again, and this time, you are the 96-pound weakling and big government is waiting to give you a wedgie and steal your lunch money. The clique remains on top of the food chain by taking what is rightfully yours. You are a means to an end, and these smooth-talking Eddie Haskells are more than willing to use you to get whatever they want. Get ready to have more sand kicked in your face.
Yes, it is high school all over again. Do you remember those uncontrollable raging teenaged hormones? It is big government “gone wild.” They want it and they want it now. And, just like a horny high-school student, big government is concerned about its own immediate gratification. It is the worst kind of promiscuity, because big government partners with some of the worst special interest whores around. These groups will do anything to get a buck in their g-string, special interests like:
- United Auto Workers Union (UAW),
- Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN),
- Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
- The Apollo Alliance
- American Association of Retired People (AARP).
Cue the porn music because they are not the only ones sharing the bed. There are also a vast assortment of lobbyists and corporate cronies doing the horizontal bump and grind with big government. This is an out of control spending orgy, with partners a plenty, where “we the people” foot the bill, clean up the mess, and hand out the penicillin.
Yes, it is high school all over again. Then there is the “good girl,” the one who claims to be untouched, but privately yearns to party with the clique. Mainstream media pretentiously goes through its chaste motions of truth and virtue. They boldly preach about The First Amendment’s Freedom of the Press, and “all the news that’s fit to print,” except when it comes to big government’s failures. In cases like that, mainstream media will look the other way. It has been blatant in its “2 good 2 be 4 gotten” lusty crush on big government.
Yes, it is high school all over again. The difference is that no matter the clique, in four years, there will not be a diploma or graduation, and taxpayers will still be going through the daily shake down.
